Dima Ayad gives me butterflies

bao

Seriously, this dress just gives me life. I love the contrast between the yellow and the nude, I’m a sucker for anything with a beautiful, soft drape and I think anyone of any size would be a total stunner in this. I have a wedding to attend in a few months and this dress is definitely my top choice on the list. It was just love at first sight!

One of the reasons why I love Dima Ayad as a designer is because she strongly believes in being size inclusive. She creates stylish and sophisticated evening wear that would make any woman feel glamorous, while accentuating and celebrating their bodies, no matter what shape or size – from XS to XL.

Here’s a behind the scenes peek at her Spring Summer 2012 collection Butterflies, I see a lot of curve friendly pieces that just radiate sexiness, fun and glamour. What do you think?

That’s Dima Ayad herself!

Forever 21+ Marilyn Monroe t-shirt, ASOS Neon Lace skirt, New Look skinny belt, H & M black bangles, Aldo shoes.

So Nicolette Mason advised me to downsize with this skirt but they didn’t have a smaller size so I took an 18 anyway, it’s definitely big, hence the skinny belt and it’s longer than expect but I kind of like that. But I would recommend down sizing too if you’re getting this. It’s neon love all the way though!

Have a great weekend,

Being your own Valentine

90353536243600603_vMeTIoI0_c

I’m kind of Meh about this so called Lovers Day but who am I to deprive the boy of an opportunity to buy me a gift or some flowers :P

I do think it’s stupid that we have a whole day to point out that being single isn’t normal, in the name of higher sales figures of course.

It’s stupid enough that people wonder why you’re single, like what’s your major flaw or you’re so cute, how can you be single? Bleh.

On a daily basis, we're told that finding The One is the most important thing (apart from being pretty but that’s linked to The One too). It’s in our TV shows, movies, music, it’s on magazine covers: Find your soul mate and you’ll live happily ever after.

So, in between all the girlfriends/ wives comparing V day stories and the ‘forever alone’ tweets, remember that being single isn’t about waiting for the next The One. Being single is about being strong, independent and having a choice. It’s about You being enough for you. It’s about happiness on your own standards.

And being in a relationship isn’t about having someone ‘complete’ you. It’s not about someone loving and validating you while you don’t do the same to yourself. Yeah we all crave human companionship and affection, but it’s nothing unless you give yourself the same love and respect as you would expect from that special someone. It really doesn’t matter if you’re single or not. Love comes in so many forms and relationships that it’s stupid to pin this one relationship above being a parent, friend or sister.

I can’t believe we have a day to celebrate how much this other person loves us or how much we love this person, but there’s no day to celebrate how much we love ourselves. Says something about our society, don’t you think?

Love.

Pink, 'cause you are so very

Mango blazer ( I regret not buying the same one in off white too!) New Look jeggings, Aldo bag, River Island shoes.

Seriously, why didn’t I pick up the blazer in off white too? It would’ve looked so chic. Oh well.

I don’t do jeggings or any form of pants that often, not even jeans but I’m pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone more often and it’s fun! It’s kind of cool to look at your insecurities and go like meh, it is what it is, embrace it. You feel a bit like a rebel, yknow? It’s almost equivalent to running around a football field waving the finger to a stadium filled with people who think you shouldn’t be wearing what you’re wearing. Sounds good, huh? :D

I have two very awesome outfit posts coming up, I’m so excited about them!! one involves a floral headband but you already know that if you like Weesha’s World on facebook :D

Speak to you soon,

I totally googled the weight limit of a kayak before I said yes to this trip :P

I had never tried kayaking before but we’ve gone on two trips now so we’re definitely addicted! It’s not as easy as it looks, there was lots of pain next day but it’s great exercise and I’d rather do this than even look at a thread mill.

I said I’m going to try new things and be adventurous in 2012 so yay!

it’s so easy to say NO,even for trivial stuff, because of shyness or being self conscious (those are my reasons anyway) but meh to that. I got some living to do.

Love,
